Secondary Open House
In November, the Secondary School opened its doors to parents for its inaugural open afternoon. This event, the first of its kind, gave parents an insight into the learning that takes place in the upper half of BSJ.
There were three parts to the afternoon. All Secondary classrooms were open for parents to drop in and observe lessons and after-school activities. These included Indonesian writing, Film Club, and Hip Hop and Contemporary Dance.
There were also three presentations: one delivered by our Learning Technology coaches on Firefly, the School’s learning management system; another by our International Baccalaureate Coordinator and Head of Sixth Form on IB assessment and reporting; and a third by the Deputy Heads of Sixth Form, who gave an overview of the Diploma at BSJ.
Finally, throughout the afternoon, subject faculties offered information about their curricula and assessments through an exhibition in the BSJ World Theatre, staffed by Faculty Leaders and their Assistants.
