For four memorable days, BSJ Year 8 students swapped classrooms and screens for rivers, forests, volcanoes, and new experiences during their Learning Without Walls residential trip to Bandung.

The adventure began with a visit to the renowned Saung Angklung Udjo, where students experienced Indonesia's rich cultural heritage through music, dance, and interactive workshops. From there, students settled into life in Bandung and prepared for a programme packed with discovery and fun.

Over the following days, students took part in hiking expeditions through the forests and volcanic landscapes of Cikole and Kawah Domas, navigating rugged terrain while supporting one another along the way, before enjoying a well-earned rest in the natural hot springs. Meanwhile, on Lake Cileunca and the Palayangan River, students demonstrated courage and teamwork as they learned to paddle together before tackling exciting white-water rafting sections.

Evenings were equally memorable, filled with quizzes, karaoke, team challenges, and plenty of laughter. Without phones and social media distractions, students connected face-to-face, forming new friendships and strengthening existing ones.

Another highlight was the final evening barbecue. Students enjoyed delicious food while live music created a vibrant atmosphere, and many took to the stage to showcase their talents. Before long, the evening had transformed into a celebration of singing, dancing, and community spirit. The trip concluded with a treasure hunt at Tahura Djuanda Forest Park, where students explored historic Dutch and Japanese tunnels while testing their collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Throughout the residential, Year 8 students represented BSJ exceptionally well. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to embrace every opportunity created memories that will last long after the journey home.
