Student Leadership

We pride ourselves on developing and encouraging our student leaders and giving them both the skills and the autonomy they need to be successful in their role. The core leadership group is the Student Council Executive - a group of eight students chosen by application to and interview with the Head of Secondary and the Deputy Head Wellbeing. This group of students both selects and oversees the regular student council who meet on a weekly basis and are responsible for gathering the ideas of the student body, promoting good causes to the students and organising school events. In addition each year group has their own council run by their Year Leader in conjunction with a member of the Student Council Executive. BSJ also has an Eco-committee which works on a range of projects throughout the school, a Service Committee which oversees fundraising across the school, a Sports Council and an Arts Council. BSJ has an ongoing relationship with the JUMP! Foundation who run two training sessions per year for our student leaders to ensure they have the skills required to work effectively as a team and promote positive change in the school.
