BSJ Safeguarding Framework - Our Approach

We are clear on our understanding of what safeguarding and child protection mean:

Safeguarding is everything we do to create a school community that promotes the safety and wellbeing of all children.

Child Protection is a part of safeguarding. It is the actions and preventative measures we take when a child is experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, harm, abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

We promote safeguarding with a focus on:

• Safer Culture: We create a school culture where every child feels safe, respected, and valued. 

• Safer People: We ensure all adults in school are suitably trained, responsible, and accountable.

• Safer Policies & Procedures: We have clear safeguarding rules, processes, and expectations that everyone understands and follows.

• Safer Environments: We work to ensure a safer learning environment on campus, online, and off-site.

• Safer Responses: We act quickly, consistently, and compassionately when concerns arise.
