Provided by ISMAYA Group

At British School Jakarta, we believe that a healthy and balanced diet is essential to the overall wellbeing, learning, and development of our students. To ensure access to high-quality, nutritious, and delicious meals, we are proud to partner with ISMAYA Group as our official catering provider.

ISMAYA is well known for its excellent food quality, hygiene standards, and experience in delivering exceptional food and beverage services across Indonesia. Their commitment to innovation, service, and nutrition aligns perfectly with BSJ’s values and priorities.

  • Food Composition Policy

We follow a comprehensive food policy to ensure students receive healthy, appealing, and nutritionally balanced meals every day.

    Key guidelines include:

    - Three main course options daily, featuring a variety of world cuisines (at least one always vegetarian).

    - Balanced and colourful menus using fresh, high-quality ingredients.

    - Set meals include protein, carbohydrates, and vegetables.

    - Daily salad options are available to all students.

    - Vegetarian meals include a protein source and are equally balanced.

    - Daily soup rotation with varied flavours and ingredients.

    - Freshly made sandwiches and breads using a range of whole grains, prepared daily in our on-campus bakery.

    - Wide selection of fresh fruits available throughout the day.

    - Meals are prepared using healthy cooking methods (e.g. grilling, baking, steaming); deep frying is limited.

    - Low sodium, low sugar, and no MSG or artificial sweeteners.

    - Cookies and baked goods are available at lunch and after school.

The Catering menu is developed in collaboration with ISMAYA’s in-house nutritionists.

  • Food Allergy Policy

BSJ takes food safety seriously, especially when it comes to managing allergies. Our allergy policy includes:

    - Parents must notify the BSJ Medical Centre of any food allergies.

    - The Medical Team regularly updates ISMAYA with the list of students who have allergies.

    - Catering staff are trained and made aware of students with allergies and the specific foods they must avoid.

    - Allergen-containing foods are clearly labelled at points of service.

    - Food handlers are educated about the risks associated with severe allergens and the importance of preventing cross-contamination.

We take every precaution to ensure a safe dining environment for all students and regularly review our procedures.

  • Nut-Free and Shellfish-Free Campus

BSJ maintains a strict nut-free and shellfish-free policy across campus. This includes all food served by our catering team as well as food brought from home. This policy is in place to protect students with severe allergies and to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all.

  • Freshly Made Food

All meals are freshly prepared daily, located within the BSJ campus. ISMAYA’s team of trained chefs and food handlers work under rigorous hygiene and safety standards to ensure meals are always fresh, safe, and of the highest quality.
