Medical Department

At the British School Jakarta, we place a high value on the health and well-being of our students, staff, and the school community. Our Medical Department is staffed by a team of professionals, including a school doctor, six school nurses, an ambulance driver, and a school catering advisor, who provide support and services to promote the health of our community.

We have two ambulances on standby to provide emergency medical services on campus or during school trips. Our medical facilities include a Medical Centre with six observation beds and an isolation room located between the Blue Court and Primary Hall, as well as two other first aid posts with one observation bed each at our Sports Centre and swimming pool area.

Our nurses are available to provide medical care from 7.00 am to 4.00 pm in the Medical Centre, from 6.30 am to 4.30 pm at the Sports Centre first aid post, and from 5.30 am to 4.00 pm at the Swimming Pool first aid post.

Our School Medical Team is equipped to administer first aid and provide health advice on campus as needed. In the event of a medical emergency, parents will be contacted to collect their child from school if thought advisable. Students requiring medical care for injuries or sickness should report to the medical facilities where their condition will be assessed, and they will receive appropriate care.

Please note that students who become sick during school hours are not able to travel home on the school bus service. In the event that parents or emergency contacts cannot be reached, the child may be taken to the nearest hospital in Bintaro for medical treatment at the discretion of the Principal or appropriate Head of School.
