FOBISIA Battle of the Bands – Lower Secondary Finals at DBS
On Saturday, 31st January, BSJ students travelled to Denla British School (DBS), Bangkok, to compete in the FOBISIA Battle of the Bands Lower Secondary Finals. Reaching the finals was already a significant achievement, with only 36 bands selected from more than 90 entries across FOBISIA schools. The standard of the final was exceptionally high, showcasing outstanding musicianship across a wide range of styles, with many bands also impressing with creative costumes, strong choreography, and confident stage presence.
BSJ students Akasha, Junseong, Kai, Kirana, Michael, Olivia, and Raika delivered a fantastic performance with an Olivia Rodrigo medley, impressing the judges with their confidence, energy, and strong stage presence. Despite a minor technical issue with one of the guitars, the band remained focused and professional, and the issue did not detract from the overall impact of the performance. Following strong deliberation from the judges, BSJ were awarded a Silver category, an excellent result in such a competitive final. Most importantly, the students came away inspired, motivated to continue playing together as a band, and eager to enter the competition again next year — a truly positive outcome and a testament to their commitment, resilience, and love of music.
