Our family has been part of the British School Jakarta community from Primary all the way to the IB programme, and we feel truly blessed to have been part of this school. It brings us great joy to see our children grow and thrive, supported by both parents and teachers, into young individuals prepared to face the challenges of adult life.

One of our son’s most treasured memories during his time at BSJ was competing in the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) games in Bangkok. The team was very successful but what made it truly memorable was the connections and friendships he made during the trip.

As part of our IB diploma programme, we took part in something called CAS. We had to do 50 hours of creative stuff, 50 hours of physical stuff and 50 hours of community service. It was an incredible experience to be able to do things that are so outside the box. We were also given the opportunity to learn many life skills and connect with different organisations and NGOs.

BSJ is known for its excellent IB programme and for generally being a first-class academic institution. That, coupled with their strong sports programmes, helped both my daughters to engage with touch rugby and swimming. Through their participation in sports, my daughters made many friends across different year groups. Her coaches and teachers were also wonderfully supportive and very passionate about teaching.

We felt at home from the beginning because people were very nice and received us in such a nice way that we felt like we were back in Colombia. We absolutely loved the academic level that Jaco saw in BSJ during his enrolment exams. We are very glad that with each passing day, we are reassured that we made the best choice by choosing BSJ.

I spent most of my formative years in an international private school, where I learnt and grew up a lot. I was lucky to be taught by some really amazing teachers at British School Jakarta. I was looked after by a really experienced and wonderful IB coordinator, Mr. Ian Davies. BSJ taught me to think for myself and form my own opinions. Some of the skills I have learnt still serve me well to this day in a professional setting.
